Inmate Central, where civil and family-friendly discourse about off-audio topics (other than religion and politics) is welcome.

Yes

the fireplace in the living room where the piano is located is original brick construction from 1980 including chimney and flue. Complete with outdoor accessible ash trap - which was rendered obsolete following the conversion done sometime before we moved in nearly fifteen years ago.

When we replaced the original carpet with wood flooring, we hid the gas control under a sliding section. The remodeling project is still underway painting the dining room which has a nearly identical converted-to-gas fireplace.

The screens are merely decorative.

We also discovered a ducting system built into the one removed from the family room that originally redirected heated air back via what appeared to be a second filter intake. It was discovered to be disconnected and effectively a source for loss of heat!
