There has been a fair bit of viral internet controversy around this topic over the last couple of years, and RT picked a couple quotes that you can Google to find the highlights. I don't think their little two-paragraph blurb is distorted.
I do think it is misleading, but I don't think is was intended to mislead. RT, along with all the right wing commentators, are just reacting in knee-jerk fashion to sentences taken out of context. They are missing the point.
First, regarding objectivity, these academics are not saying that mathematics doesn't have right and wrong answers. They are saying that there is subjectivity in mathematics assessment. For a primer, look here:

Second, the arguments for introducing ethnomathematics in the curriculum are not attempts to dumb down mathematics or teach pseudo-science. Ethnomathematics is the study of mathematics in culture: the history of mathematics and mathematicians, different mathematical systems in present or historical use, the state of mathematics education in different places, the sources and remedies for achievement gaps, etc. The arguments for including it are that it will give students a broader view of the subject area, eliminate expectation biases, and encourage minority students to take a greater interest in mathematics education. The only good argument against including it is that it will take time away from teaching core mathematics, or if not that, other subjects.
