I have the same generation Tacoma. Is yours beginning to feel difficult to use door handle? If it is, you might consider pulling the inside door panel and lubricate the mechanism. I just had the passenger door get difficult to open. I bought a pair of outside door handles, replaced the passenger side and it made no difference. Then I lubricated the mechanism and linkages and inside and outside door handles work very easily. In my case the clear plastic water/dust shield was ripped and we live on a dirt road so what you are experiencing may be different.
I'm a Rockauto fan. When I ordered suspension parts for the Tacoma the parts arrived the next day, surprising the heck out of me.
