Well this is the situation in Canada.

You live in British Columbia, Canada but if you go to New Brunswick you are NOT covered. When you move to a province you have to get on to that Province's medical plan. A Canadian was hit with a huge bill because she was injured out of province. Canadians don't even know this. When you vacation out of BC, you must buy medical insurance through an outfit like BCAA - it's not expensive - maybe $25 for a week or something but it is not nationwide coverage.

I live in Hong Kong and every year I come home to BC I have to buy medical insurance for 5 weeks. It runs around $350. This includes coverage in the US so long as 51% of my time is spent in Canada. I am a Canadian Non Resident so I do not have Medical care in Canada. When I return to Canada for good, I have to wait 90 days before I get back on full coverage. So for those 3 months, I need private medical insurance.

I think the biggest issue is that everyone looks for perfection and if it's not perfect then they opt instead to do nothing.

The thing is the politicians are not supposed to be rulers for four years - they are "employees" and their job is to enact the will of the majority of citizens and what the citizens want.

However, in the US what the people want is around 50-50 on many issues.

The country, IMO, is too big and too much in opposition. I know for a fact that all Christians and Catholics in the US would not want to be ruled by Sharia. These Catholics and Christians though don't understand that Atheists don't want to be ruled by Christian and Catholic ideology either.

The beliefs of most New Yorkers and Californians just isn't remotely the same as most Kentuckians. And so it seems to me that every 4 years half the country is in a state of seething anger. It's not healthy. And when happiness comes solely from "making liberals cry" or some such nonsense it's all on a downward spiral.

Someone asked me If I wanted to live in the US - my answer is no because I might live near some Yosemite Sam gun-toting hill billy Trump supporters. That's a sacrifice too great - even if I have a few extra dollars in my pockets.
