Why Finland And Denmark Are Happier

These things come around a fair bit but this video - from a US Expert - discusses how they come up with this stuff.

One thing they don't mention is the fitness level of a population. Fitness has a tendency to make people happier and so fitness and diet may be bigger factors and "perhaps" more walking focused cities will give people a boost in this regard.

The argument around mixed race is weak since Canada is very diverse just like the US and scores highly on these metrics. Besides the USA does well on these too. Comparing a population of 5 million to 330+ million is going to obviously yield more "unhappy" people so a large population will see far more diversity in rankings so it's not something to get peeved about.

The US has 50 quite different States - Canada has provinces and territories that are all quite different. So one might be happier in one State or province than in another. Finland and Denmark are tiny. Indeed, tiny means you run into far fewer people. And the more people I meet the more I like my cats.

Still, since we can't travel I am enjoying these little tidbits from around the world to see how other people live their lives. And perhaps their happiness level is something to consider rather than the chase for material things.
