I can't believe it's been 25 years, since I went with my ex-girlfriend, KJ, to see the San Francisco Spiders, at the Cow Palace in Daly City. She actually still has the ticket stub, above.
In 91/92 and 92/93, the NHL's Sharks played their home games at the Cow Palace. However, KJ and I were away for college, so we never got to see an NHL game there. The IHL (which folded in 2001) then fielded a new team, the San Francisco Spiders. KJ and I had been to the Cow Palace for rock concerts, home improvement show, rodeo, and monster truck. So, seeing an ice hockey game there was..interesting. They kept playing jock jams, including 2 Unlimited's "Get Ready For This." I don't recall, but I think the Spiders won late, possibly even in OT. And their assistant coach was Bruce Boudreau, who would go on to become head coach for the NHL's Washington Capitals, Anaheim Ducks, and Minnesota Wild.
The mid-90s were an awesome time. The economy was picking up steam, so more people got into high-end audio. High-end audio itself was peaking. Seems like yesterday, but that was really a quarter century ago.
