Because, up to 3 weeks ago, these "leaders" were saying masks and distancing were infringements on "freedom" and not likely effective, anyway. Just yesterday, we had a top WH public health official downplaying the current crisis.Global warming: you don't think there's a difference in energy policies? Only about 180 degrees, my friend. Health care? Same. Individual vs corporate rights: SCOTUS? Absolute differences. Shoring up Social Security. Corporate and personal taxes? Environmental Protection?
Defense spending is perhaps the only point of agreement. In other words, you have the telescope backwards. 5% agreement on major issues.
