Same as VW Canada. My friend's mom had a VW and she did all the servicing on time at VW. The engine blew at around 40,000km (not miles) - automatic transmission - they blamed her for not driving properly.

She had the gall to start the car every day and drive at the speed limit. Her husband who is a large Italian athlete when down to the dealer and since he looks like a one-man wrecking crew implied that that if they didn't fix the car he would fix them. They fixed the car because if they didn't they might be a stain on the side-walk. She sold the car after the repair and will never buy a VW again.
