Has anyone with USSA insurance had an accident?

When we had Kemper and my wife backed my truck into a car, we got a hefty increase on her car, like about a 70% increase.

As luck would have it, I went up to the Janus door warehouse to pickup a door this week. It was confusing as to where exactly to go to pick the door and I was backing up and tagged a post in the blind spot. I was so pissed as this is the first accident I've had since I was in college.

It'll need a new bumper and the rear fender if I get it fixed perfectly, probably about $4-5K with all the clips and brackets.

Luckily, I know the owner of a local shop as our kids were friends for many years and Tony runs a great shop, usually full of BMWs and the like, and he gives me a bit of a discount. He thinks he might be able to do it for about $3K cash if he can pull out the fender and smooth it out with a little bondo. With a $1,000 deductible, I'm tempted to go that route as an extra $2K is nearly a wash considering how much Kemper hit us on the increased cost for several years.

OTOH, if USSA isn't as greedy in getting their money back, I may just make a claim. Does anyone have any experience with USSA?
