Different place, different experience. Slime tubes are a must here, and even they go flat on average every couple of months. Non slime, I was fixing tires a couple of times a week.
It is also bumpy here. I had two mountain bikes, one with a lot of carbon fiber, about 24 lbs. The other, heavy duty, about 60 lbs. There was no difference in effort riding them. The heavier bike didn't lose momentum over bumps.
