that's actually good news, your HDD is ok otherwise chkdsc wouldn't run
you seem to have a software - driver conflict ... so restart the system
press and hold down the shift key and click on Start > Power > Restart
Winders will boot into the troubleshooting menu and offer 'walk through' menu options for repairing or resetting the OS [last resort]
it's not clear from your post if you got that far or were just in the pre-boot text screens
hopefully you made back-ups of your 'user files' because if the repair options fail you'll need to reset the OS
or leave it with the neighbor if he's good with this stuff
at least the indications are that your hardware is OK
