RE: A great film with stunning cinematography, acting, screenplay,

I am generally happy when a film doesn't follow the book to the letter and I far preferred the movie to the mini-series. King's novels tend to be long which doesn't make them particularly great to follow to the letter.

Pet Semetary the book was quite good but the first movie was terrible - the newer movie 2019 changed some things and was respectable (though not good either it is a best picture candidate compared to the original).

Film Adaptations are difficult because people have so many expectations going in. The English Patient had essentially 4 main characters - the novel follows two more closely while the film arguably follows the other two more closely. I enjoyed both but I liked the book more having watched the movie and the movie more having read the book. By themselves they seem a bit weak considering the hype both received.

Personally - I like Kubrick's " A Clockwork Orange" the best.
