As an ex-Detroiter I well remember that 1968 World Series. After the 1967 riot and more unrest the next year, the city of Detroit needed something to feel good about. That came in the form of the 1968 Detroit Tigers. I remember all too well how Bob Gibson dominated in the World Series. Even though he was on the other side Detroiters had to admit he was a great pitcher. RIP Bob and thanks for the great baseball.
