Average price of Big Macs in US dollars https://www.statista.com/statistics/274326/big-mac-index-global-prices-for-a-big-mac/

The Big Mac in your town may be $3.99 - what is the min wage in your town? Take the min wage - subtract the Big Mac what do you have left? How many Big Macs can you buy on min wage? There is an economic theory tied to the Big Mac globally.

In Australia - the $6.60 Big Mac is in AUD - but the min Wage is $22. $22 allows said person to by 3+ Big Macs and maybe a side of fries per hour. How are you doing in your state? I am betting not as well.

The kiosks are being rolled out in major cities first to alleviate the crowds. And yes to save money on labour - but they would do this if the hourly wage was $15 or $3. In other words - no matter what the wage - the kiosks would replace them. They have been in Hong Kong for years and the min wage was less than $5US and the stores are all basically full on busy - if you worked at McDonalds - as I did for 3 years - take the busiest hours you had - lunch/dinner and multiply it by 3 and then it would be sustained for 10 hours. That's why the machines were brought in. Sure a nice bonus to drop a couple of employees but that isn't the reason d'etre.
