Are there any major points of agreement on any important aspect of society where democrats and trump supporters agree? I agree with you - if I were a rural very religious person I would not want some Kale eating Vegan pot smoking hipsters telling me how to run my life - but then why can't those rural very religious folks put themselves in the hipster's shoes and say - yes but they don't want to have rural highly religious views dictating their lives.
It used to be the case where people would say what brings us together is far more than what divides us. Is that true today? Maybe someone should make one of those Venn Diagrams where we write down all the issues that most democrats believe in one circle - what Trump supporters believe in another circle and then see what issues both agree on. I think what divides us is far FAR more than what brings us together. And in the end that is going to come to a head - the first signs are what is happening now. I suppose there is a coming together of sorts where people like John Kasich supports the Democrats and a large number of Republicans are following suit - putting their political difference aside. But that is more politically right moving to the center right - not a massive shift.
I mean people are driving to other states to shoot protesters. This is not good. The vitriol is so high on both sides.
