RE: You should fill out your profile by listing your system.

Yeah, I never took the time, and was contemplating some major changes at the time I joined (a few of which have occurred, others still pending). Audio is more of a "winter project" for when outside is not pleasant in these parts.

Quick summary--main system based on Audio Research SP-6 pre, Krell FPB 600 x2 amps driving either Infinity IRS-V or Tekton Double Impact speakers--which replaced Infinity Kappa 9s and Maggie 30.7s. TTs--Linn LP12 and SOTA Sapphire (Ittok and SME 309 arms, respectively). Bedroom: ARC SP-6 pre and D-76 amp driving JBL S-38 Series II speakers. TT--Dual CS-5000. Office: Cambridge Audio Azure 651A integrated driving Klipsch RB-81 II speakers. TT--Dual CS-5000. Bunkhouse: Yamaha CR-3020 driving JBL L100 or 4312C speakers. TT--Technics SL1200.

DACs are an "assortment" of nothing special--Grant Fidelity TubeDAC-11s, Cambridge Audio DacMagics, etc. Various CDPs--several Sony ES models, Cambridge Audio CXC transport, Carver SD/A-490t. Still have a few tape decks--Nak Dragon and TEAC/Tascam cassettes, 2 TEAX X-1000r R2R, external DBX Type II NR units. DBX Subharmonic Synthesizer/X-over. A pile of Carver and Aragon units currently not in use. A handful of mostly Denon, Carver and Yamaha tuners. Two heavily-modded Jolida JD9 phono pres, and I just bought a Pro-ject Tube Box DS2. Other misc odds n ends hanging around too. Mainly Cardas, Audioquest, Blue Jean, Mogami and Monster cables. Power conditioners--Monster, Furman, and a dedicated Siemens panel. Snagged a totally rebuilt APT Holman pre last year--not sure what to do with it. A pair of Maggie 3.6R's waiting on me to tear them apart, fix the delamination issues and rebuild the ribbons (they were freebies, but the X/Os were modded for bi-amping--soooo...)

Overall, not "bad stuff", but nothing totally "off the hook", either.

Most of my music preferences fall in the 60's-80's time-frame (a lot of it live performances), and my primary source is vinyl, so "absolute resolution" is a "double-edged sword"--if you know what I mean.

I'm not a big TV/movie guy, so no true HT of any sort--just big flat-screens and soundbars--that's all I need/want. Did-up a "nice" 5.1 system when it first came out, and vowed never again. PITA to set-up and everything is obsolete by the time you un-pack and hook it up--and news/weather and re-runs aren't that much better with Dolby ATMOS LOL.

Fantasy piece that I don't own would either be original Carver Silver Seven tube monoblocks, or the "new Silver Seven" tube monoblocks--basically a couple "big" (200-300w) tube amps. Might venture into the world of DSP/correction when I have time/enough interest.

"And today is for sale and it's all you can afford. Buy your own admission. The whole things got you bored. Well the Lord chooses the good ones, and the bad ones use the Lord"--a very dear friend for decades Michael Stanley (Gee)--RIP
