You can start by not buying our agricultural products and raw materials. We could save our resources like soil, aquifers, rivers, forests, and so on for our own future benefit, instead of depleting them for the benefit of the next empire.
Then you can figure out how to design your own microprocessors, lab instruments, and aerospace products. Figure out high tech manufacturing for yourselves. Learn how to develop your own pharmaceuticals. Develop your own operating systems, cryptology, etc. Prove that you can be more than just the world's factory.
We were stupid enough to think that by helping you transform your economy into a modern efficient capitalist system, that the resulting prosperity would lead to liberal democracy. Obviously, that didn't happen. All we did was create a new empire that is even more nationalistic, jingoistic, and self-serving than our own, one that looks more like the Japanese empire of the early 20th century than the American empire of the later 20th century. More fool us.
A full economic divorce between the US and China is far overdue.
