I installed solar about 14 years ago. I selected REC panels, silicon was grown in the US, panels were first made in Norway and then I believe Malaysia or maybe Singapore. And Enphase micro inverters. There was a test field in Germany with 50 panel manufacturers, until they lost funding. Last report, I believe the REC's were number 1 at that test.
I had also worked on equipment at solar panel manufacturing plants, at one time offering to trade my time for panels. The guy that hired me pulled me aside and told me, they were having longevity problems. And the nature of the problem.
The REC output has gone down very little in the 14 years. The inverters do send data, I believe, on the neutral. I have some mixed signal semiconductor equipment here that is very sensitive to noise, I didn't notice any problems when I installed the solar equipment. But I also have ground rods adjacent to the array.
The warranties on panels are very good, otherwise I would share your caution regarding longevity.
