It's bonkers if you think about it

If you make 25% of the population stay home, how's that going to work for the economy? Not only would your strategy kill and/or permanently injure a lot of people for no good reason, it would also doom the economy.

One reason why visiting the grocery store with mask on is a low risk activity is that there very few people out there walking around with COVID-19. The probability that you're going to run into someone contagious is pretty low. But if you let the virus go wild, suddenly the majority of the people in the grocery store will be contagious and it might not be so safe to go out and get essentials anymore.

And what about all those people in assisted living situations? They can't isolate because they depend on staff. If the virus is so prevalent the staff can't stay safe from COVID-19, you're giving a death sentence to most of the people living in those facilities.

And what if there's no vaccine? Do you just isolate yourself indefinitely? If so, that's not much of a life to live. If not, you come out of hiding and then get infected.

Why is it so difficult to understand the most obvious solution to the problem, which is stopping the spread of the virus? There's examples all around the world and in this country. That's the fastest way back to normal.
