The "expos" turned out to be nothing, just single dealer promotions in the showrooms of the two largest dealers in the area, not a traveling regional show like we saw the last time we were in the market. One of the dealers was transparent about it in their advertising. The other one didn't put their business name in any of the advertising and had no link to their web site from the expo web site. But when I looked up the event location it's their showroom. And it turns out neither dealer has anything ready to sell anyway. They're not willing to sell their display models because they still have lots of people coming in to check them out and placing orders.
The more I think about it, the more confident I am that I can replace the rotted frame members. I was apprehensive at first because of the extent of the damage, and because the lumber is an odd size (not 2x4) and I don't have a table saw to rip boards. But I have a couple friends with table saws who might be willing to let me come over.
