I haven't heard anything from the NFL to suggest they are reconsidering an on-time start. By the time we get to that date, there will be plenty of other sport going on. NASCAR is back up and running. Major League Soccer is back. NBA is going to resume next month. College football is coming back. MLB and NHL are still waffling, but with MLB it's just over money. Everybody wants sports. Around here, Little League started on time. And even back in May, we we're seeing uniformless sports teams (presumably HS or college) conducting practices wherever they can find an unlocked field, traveling from out of town to do so, even though it was disallowed.

I get that football is the antithesis of distancing, but if most other leagues are making money, half the country is playing high school football again, and there's at least some NCAA Div I play, then I can't imagine the NFL cancelling.

Personally, I don't think football is a good idea. But the whole Covid-19 response is unraveling so rapidly now, and I don't see anything stopping that trend before the start of the season.
