I was attempting to head off the fact that if RGA posts it it will be deemed lefty propaganda so I wanted to make sure I made the note that the organizations who published this study was not from lefty land but from Conservative funded organizations.

Indeed, from a lefty perspective - I complement the conservatives for noting that the freest personal freedom countries are those generally considered "socialist." The Conservative think tanks research is that you have more personal freedom in "liberal" countries like NZ, Canada, Australia, Norway than you have in capitalist hubs like Hong Kong and the United States. (though of course both do well)

If a Liberal funded think tank drew that conclusion it would just get a series of "Fake News" commentary. But if it comes from a Conservative think tank then, theoretically, it won't be abjectly thrown into the garbage with no consideration.

When conservatives say you have more personal freedom in Liberal countries that conservative countries it, theoretically, holds more weight.

But actually I was just looking at places around the world to retire where my money goes further and where to by a second, third, fourth home to rent out and I cam across this in my search. I was then shocked that the Fraser Instute was partially behind it - looked up Cato and was surprised again because it wasn't the result I expected.

Thought people here might enjoy it since there are a bunch of geezers on this forum who might rather like the idea of living like a king in these other countries over living middle class in their own. And considering I see people moaning and whining about their neighbors who voted for whoever the other geriatric is and moaning and whining that their town has gone in the dump because of whoever - why not pick up and move to Portugal, or Ecuador, or New Zealand etc where your money is ridiculously strong. And if you have lots of money - the financial freedom side is not important so the left side comes into play perhaps for a retiree.
