RE: A conversation with a restaurant owner last night...

The answer I would give today would probably be different than one 2 months from now. This is an evolving situation where will learn more about the virus and what the real risks are with the passage of time.

We eat out a lot, very frequently with family and friends, have many favorite restaurants, and are always exploring new ones, often many miles away. My wife is an outstanding cook, but it's not just about the food. It's also a social and cultural part of our lives, and it's especially an important part of any travel we do. It's a great way to meet people and explore a city or a country. Places we like include pizza, taco joints, and ethnic hole-in-the-wall places too, not always fancy ones.

We'll be tentative about going out even after restaurants begin to open up. We make reservations months in advance for some places now, and we'll continue to do that when the time comes. I don't envision we'd give this up completely, but who knows.
