...is that the majority of the vaccines that are the most advanced in the process are based on the genetic structure of the original virus isolates obtained from the initial outbreaks in China. We have already documented several different genetic "lineages" in Europe and the US. Depending on the degree of variation, the vaccines developed from these initial isolates may or may not be effective against the current prevailing strains of the virus.
