If you dig further you will see that most of the murders committed by African Americans are against other African Americans. It is called internalized oppression, they have been told their lives aren't worth as much and their lives are not valued so they do not value their own lives. Four hundred years of slavery, decades of Jim Crow laws, divestment of black and minority communities, stand your ground laws and systematically being cut out of the American dream and lots of poverty not to mention the prison industrial complex. Why can't they pull themselves up you can ask but the black community is always hit hardest when downturns and disaster strike and redlining in cities keep the communities from building wealth and family. Discrimination and racism are alive and well in this country. Now if we could get Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson to show up with the same outrage when one black man kills another because they have been told their lives don't matter as much. So yes Black Lives Matter.
I have posted this documentary about the Bronx because I think it literally and metaphorically sums up a lot of what has plagued communities for decades in this country. Imagine this happening in major cities all over the country.
