Most electric motors have a lot of torque, some of the early wheel motors were the exception. I had the Kollmorgen motor geared down a bit, riding it, it feels like it could climb a tree.
I stopped at a yard sale, knew the owner, tall blonde, maybe 120lbs. I let her try it, she hit the throttle, lifted the front wheel off the ground.
I mentioned I originally got into this to strengthen my knee. I ended up using the motor only to climb the hill home, which is about 1/4 mile, very steep. I ended up carrying only 2.5 lbs of batteries which gets me up the hill 3 times on a charge.
