Day care centers here were never ordered to close

But the vast majority of them closed anyway. The state has an assistance program to try to keep day care centers open, to provide emergency day care service for front line workers. The deal includes attendance limits and cleaning & distancing rules. Some of the ones who signed up for the program ended up closing anyway due to lack of business. So we're down to just a couple hundred open state wide.

Lack of child care is the #1 thing preventing businesses from mandating their employees stop working from home (if they even can) and come back to the workplace. So I'm expecting a tremendous push to get day care re-opened coming from the chamber of commerce and other business interests.
