focusing on enlarging our middle class and paying people everybody who works at the least a living wage. Nobody in the U.S. buys Chinese products because they prefer them over U.S. made products, they buy them because they can ONLY afford the cheapest products available. Walmart became a huge biz by providing cheap Chinese-made products.
Faced with a choice of paying a relatively few bucks more for U.S. made products - particularly from companies that I know are paying their workers well rather than paying their CEO 500 x's more than workers - I'd opt for that every time over cheap Chinese goods. Wouldn't you?
Its pretty obvious that people working minimum wage jobs don't have much choice. Take a look at the link showing minimum wage in our states.
