I think their policies for people entering and leaving the reservation are reasonable, but the checkpoints are on highways that the state and feds have jurisdiction over. The tribe does not have the legal authority to put up or keep up the checkpoints. However, from a practical standpoint I think the governor is being a dumbass. There is no good reason to pick a fight right now. Wait for a sense of safety to return, and when heads have cooled, the problem will resolve itself.
