Those meat processing plants were closed because they were Covid-19 incubators.
We first need to figure out what facility and process changes are needed to keep them from spreading the virus. Then they should re-open.
Considering the rate it was spreading before closure, if we force those meat processers back to work now, we would be dooming pretty much all the workers, their families, and contacts to get the virus.
I wouldn't want that on my conscience. These people aren't our slaves to command for the sake of tasty meals. We can live with a temporary meat shortage until we can figure out how to make it safe.
