You should be careful with who you label "you". That "you" does not include me, or most Americans, or most Canadians, or most...blah, blah blah. But, of course, you will blame the "you", all Americans, because that is your style (painting with a broad brush). A trope that you repeat over and over and over again, ad nauseum.

And, the history of U.S.-China relations/business/trade does not absolve China of any responsibility that may exist in the spread of the pandemic virus and in any of their actions which contributed to or exacerbated the severity of the pandemic outside of China.

With your illogic, China can never be held responsible for almost anything that they do in relation to the United States.

I agree with this in terms of the history of United States-China relations and "A slow and deliberate takeover". "The elite" being interchangeable with "the rich". I hold the rich/the elite responsible, more specifically, the power elite. The elite heralded by many, but not "me".

The basis for membership of a power elite is institutional power, namely an influential position within a prominent private or public organization."

Most of the historical actions that you attribute to the "you" should have been attributed to the United States "elite".
