My neighborhood has become so quiet...

I live in the Faubourg Marigny in New Orleans and this quarantine has really shown us just how transient our neighborhood has become. We use to have neighbors that you saw frequently and you watched out for each other and it was rare not to be able to park right in front of your house. In recent years though with the proliferation of short term rentals all over the city and in the Marigny we have lost many neighbors and we have become long term parking for the French Quarter because we are just a few blocks away and there aren't any parking restrictions so strange cars would show up on our street Thursday or Friday and not leave until Sunday or Monday and it would not be unusual to see groups of 6-10 tourists passing in front of my house. This is now the start of what would be festival season and this would be the weekend of French Quarter festival and parking would have been impossible but there are very few cars on the street now and no tourists. New Orleans depends on tourism and the festivals are a big source of that income but there is a problem with hyper tourism that over runs residential neighborhoods like mine so for the time being I am enjoying the peace and quiet.
Maybe it's a little too quiet.
