It had suffered extensive front bumper rust & wouldn't have passed inspection (?! -- even in NH) without more work than I cared to invest in it). Still runs great, and (of course) has a nearly new frame under it, so it has much more to give. It's now a farm truck in Maine and will serve admirably in that role.
Such a great, no-nonsense vehicle. It still had that 'umbrella handle' parking brake that was in the '74 Hilux I mentioned earlier. In fact, the dashboard wasn't really all that different, other than being more safety-engineered than the '74's. :-p
Great little trucks.
I'd love to have another one (extended cab would be nice, though -- I must admit).
all the best,
mrh
