The best thing about solar-generated electricity... as soon as one's electricity is (more or less) free, electric powered (as opposed to fossil-fuel powered) stuff makes ever more sense.
Thus we are - I think - slowly but surely transitioning from a propane-fueled boiler ( boilah in the local patois) to high-efficiency heat pumps. We put one in as a beta-test, and I (at least) am quite taken with it so far. :)
