Please remind me of that, the next time I'm thinking I can't live without a new toy, will you? As it is, I'm buying too much ammo. No, not to make RGA nervous, but simply because I remember a few short years ago, when there was nothing on the store shelves but dust. I'm loving that .22 LR is back down to 3ยข a round, and you can buy as much as you desire.
I took a Defensive Pistol class last Saturday from a 24-year NRA instructor, who's also retired CIA. During the breaks, he was talking about some $5k rifle with a $2k scope he bought, which of course got my attention, even though he and the other guy might as well have been speaking Chinese, talking about MOA, etc.
Where I joined is host to IDPA, "cowboy challenge", high power rifle matches, as well as the previously mentioned various shotgun events, and some other things I've forgotten. I'll have a variety of things to try, and you're right, all of them outdoors. The couch is a killer. If I didn't use it as a listening seat, I would be wise to get rid of it all-together.
