GM doesn't recommend it? Ok, I would follow their recordation.
No anti seize on the old plugs? No, done right you wouldn't see any. You don't slather the threads with anti seize (that bad) Just a "little" dab on ether side of the threads just up from the end of the thread. As you thread the plug in it will coat just right.
But again, always follow manufactures recommendations. they will never steer wrong.
