Yes, indeed, a marvel of engineering.
The multi-caliber version was called K3, you can still find them, but the prices are crazy. Well... prices on ALL these went nuts.
Some people did complain about the heat. It did not bother me for at least 100 rounds, and I could do 200 with various degree of discomfort.
However, the later models, the M models, P7M8, P7M10 and P7M13 had plastic heat shield over the trigger finger.
VERY easy gun to shoot, once you get over the initial surprise.
