just finished a week long battle with ants

every 2-3 years hundreds show up making their way indoors. This year they landed on the top of my washing machine as if they were landing at Normandy. Each time this occurs I use my go-to defense of Terro liquid ant killer. Spraying them with bleach/water may kill them individually but to defeat the lot of them you have to get to the Queen ant. That's were the Terro come in. A couple drops here and there and the ants attack it as if they were on crack. Only problem is word gets out and just about every ant within a quarter mile shows up.
Within a couple of days hundreds more appeared out of nowhere. And it must have been a fairly huge nest because typically it only takes a day or two, three at most. This took damn near a week and almost two bottles of ant killer. Today only a few straggler ants can be seen; most likely looking for any buddies left behind or scout ants looking for the next big catch....that's where the bleach/water spray bottle comes in handy.
