Nice photos.
That green plant at the boat dock is salvinia molesta. It is an invasive species from Brazil. It has spread everywhere in the swamps of south LA and is a menace to boaters. You say that's a boat launch. Try launching a boat it that. It is all over Jean Lafite park waterways and nearly impossible to paddle or motor through with a conventional motor. Airboats can deal with it.
