We have the same issue with packages going to the wrong address, but usually they go to #2 or #4. We are #3. I have a 3 on my mail box, on the garage and beside the front door. There are 10 houses on the street - 1 through 10. We also get stuff for #2 and #4. I just take the mail or package to my neighbor. For some reason we usually have to go to 2 and 4 and ask when a package has been delivered, but not on our porch.
I think that it is just carelessness. Just leave it somewhere and let them sort it out.
