I was once as you

Why should every family own a truck? Just curious. At 53 I've never needed one yet. To me a truck is the same as a mini-van, either you need one or you don't.

Sometimes, however, having that capability provides opportunities that otherwise you would pass by. Wifey and I each have two seater convertibles, but we needed one vehicle for travel and providing AWD capability for winters. Previously, we've found ourselves being unable to get out of our driveway having only sports cars and an Acura TL A-spec!

I love our 2017 Honda Ridgeline. Built on a unibody chassis with fully independent suspension, it is quieter than an S Class Mercedes and corners at 0.80 G with its 18" 60 series tires. Needed to discard some old furniture today and didn't have to borrow someone else's truck in order to do so. It also has a lockable trunk. This past weekend, we took it for a 1000 mile round trip to Austin for the Formula One. It rained Sunday and the parking was a mud bog. It cruises effortlessly at 85 and actually gets pretty decent mileage - I can get 25 MPG on the highway.
