RE: Cataract removal surgery. Any experience?

My better-half had it done last summer. It was generally a success. She's had coke-bottle-bottom lenses in her glasses most of her life. She's always had issues getting contact lenses just right. The last few years she's had increasing trouble with prescription owing to how bad the cataracts had gotten. Now she does not wear or need contacts, and the only glasses she wears now are for real up close stuff - like reading numbers on watch batteries. She had an issue very shortly after having the cataract work. She had protein deposits on the new lenses that had to be lasered away. I guess the protein deposits are not uncommon, but for them to develop that quickly and to the degree she did is uncommon. I think she is pleased overall with the outcome. One thing I may never get used to is the changes in the way light is reflected from her eyes by her new lenses. It's just kind of unnatural looking. Something in the back of my mind make me wonder if somewhere nearby there is an empty pod.
