It is illegal to shoot fireworks in my area. This is gleefully ignored by everyone including law enforcement. We have three dogs, two of which are terrified by the fireworks. We have neighbors and friends (on any other day) who blow up hundreds of dollars worth of loud and obnoxious explosive devices in front of my house. I live on a circle, so they shoot them off right in front of my house in the center of our cul de sac. What a stupid way to celebrate.
I have a terrified dog in my lap even though she has had a Valium. The other dog is also medicated and in the closet.
The neighbors who do this have dogs as well and know it terrifies our dogs. We are invited to their party, but we have explained that we can't come. We have to stay home and comfort terrified animals. These are otherwise nice people.
