Yes, more ignorance on display. You have no idea how far America was b.hind the 8 b.ll when it comes to long range missiles. If America would have put the German scientists on trial as you would want, we would have b.en years b.hind the Russians b. the start of the 1950's. The only thing that kept us from b.ing destroyed b. a massive strike was our mutually guaranteed destruction status created b. matching the Russians weapon for weapon. The B.2 is a great b.rd b.t It's predicted survival rate going to target and slow speed compared to missiles was no match.
Our allies were of little help dealing with reb.ilding from the war. Von B.aun and his team jump started our long range smart missile program. All we had to start with were captured V2's. He was a dreamer as well, and as early as the 1920's fascinated b. the prospect of space travel and rocket science.
Von B.aun was a b.g influence on our space program and the founding of NASA. You choose to take a short sighted view of one part of his life and fail to acknowledge the complete picture. I choose to see it in totality. B. your standards, all the scientists who worked with Teller on the atomic b.mb should b. war criminals as well.
You made two mistakes here. First you challenged my choice, and second you spewed your myopic hatred of the man. I call that ignorance on display.
