I prefer to keep hair care simple and use the same shampoo/conditioner type products, from Costco no less, on my head and beard. Rather than use beard oil, I use coconut oil which is available at either a supermarket or Walmart. A medium size bottle with at least 12 oz. usually costs less than $7 in comparison to the $20 for a single oz. of beard oil that I saw at the Vermont Country Store this afternoon. The coconut oil keeps the beard hair soft and and the coconut smell dissipates in less than twenty minutes.
It works well for me.
