That we've turned medicine into a video game! As I look down the hallway of the ICU, I see doctors and nursed OUTSIDE the patients' rooms entering data into the computer rather than in the patients' rooms laying on their hands. Lawyers have forced us to DOCUMENT every fart of the patient lest their lawyers get wind!
Doctors' notes now contain much redundant gibbberish cut and pasted from elsewhere in the medical record as "proof" that they've read the patient's chart. And tomorrow's intern merely cuts and pastes yesterday's data from yesterday's note. All of this is intended to show that they are "aware" of the patients' condition when in actuality they are only aware of what they cut and paste from yesterday.
Liberation will come ONLY when we are freed from useless "documentation"!
