On Saturday, I had to say goodbye to my orange tabby cat Osiris, who had been with me for 13 years. A kidney failure led to a cancer diagnosis, and within a week he was gone.
It has been a long time since I have lost a pet, and it leaves a big empty hole. So I know just what you are feeling. It is indeed an awful way to see in a new year.
