RE: German vs. Japanese, plus a French blade

I bought myself a Spyderco w/S30V steel. Very sharp and for me, difficult to sharpen well.

Neighbor gave me a 10$ or so IMITATION Spyderco which is fine for many things, though not quite as well made as the real thing.

I intentionally bought American Made.

I might be a 'steel geek'. So many different steels available to the modern knife maker. And it appears that even the 'secret' of Damascus has been rediscovered and makes Excellent blades.

I found a <10$ Ceramc at the 'as seen on TV store' and I can't believe how sharp this thing is. Blade material is very brittle, so not for some duties, but in general? For just cutting up veggies or similar?
Tough to beat.
Too much is never enough
