RE: Americans are buying 15% more shit than they were pre-pandemic.

I wonder if whats happening, is maybe people have figured out, during the pandemic, that they can live on a lot less than they thought. That chasing after the last buck in order to buy the next latest thing, is just like a dog chasing his tail. It never ends, and it gets you nowhere.
Maybe finally, people are wise to the Madison Ave. advertising push
that entices us to buy buy buy. A simpler life, and time with family is more important than the dog eat dog ,rat race, of the workaholic existence.
If so, then maybe Capitalism has run its course.
