RE: Well, we've found that out (kinda/sorta)...

I worked in a 'fab' down in Orange County which was built to some insane standard....
I think I heard 'Seismic Zone Severn' or some such bandied about. I think this was Mid-90s.

I watched the manufacturing part at several points during the construction and you simply would NOT believe how much rebar was bent and concrete poured. The floor of the fab was a huge HONEYCOMB of beams 18" or taller in a rectangular grid.....supported by large amounts of STEEL.
The engineer said people would 'walk out' after a 7 .0 or maybe more. This building had miles of pipes containing all sorts of ACIDS and GASSES, too......

Reactors have some unique issues not common to any other building....
My other conern is that the SAFETY SYSTEMS and Software cannot adequately be tested. Except maybe thses days by the largest / fastest super computrs...But 20 or 30 years ago? NO.

A MAJOR reactor problem next to the Pacific and near to a major city? Incalculable disaster.
Too much is never enough
